Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Developing detailed specifications, material requisitions, quality assurance inspection and test requirement documents, process instructions, engineered drawings, memorandums and application designs on subsystems and equipment on surface ships undergoing overhaul, modification and conversion using 2D AutoCad

  • Serving as a technical consultant for alternative materials based on evaluation of published data, environmental consideration, service conditions and system operating parameters

  • Providing job planning services to prepare work job summaries which define authorized work boundaries, work scope, technical and quality assurance requirements, material cost and ordering specifications and estimates in regards to man –hours required for work accomplishment

Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position such as:

  • Fifteen years of experience and an Associates Degree

  • Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge of aspects unique to nuclear powered aircraft carriers, including working of special interface and control requirements associated with the accomplishments of total ship/system engineering and design work

  • Provided technical assistance in the engineering analysis and calculation associated with project designs in mechanical systems and components mainly comprised of but not limited to main propulsion plant piping systems and machinery, refrigeration systems and components, auxiliary machinery, steering , hydraulic power systems and components, fuel oil, fresh water and sea connected piping systems and components

  • Evaluation and applying knowledge and techniques in problem solving issued related to the position

One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Secret Security Clearance will be required. U.S. Citizenship required.
