JOB OBJECTIVE : Ferguson is currently in search for a Supply Chain Analyst supporting Distribution Center Operations at Headquarters, in Newport News, VA. The Supply Chain Analyst utilizes superb analytical skills to drive operational performance in the various areas of supply chain technologies and distribution operations. This position will also manage various projects as directed by the Senior Manager of Distribution Operations.


  • Provide daily support in the execution of all areas of Distribution Center operations management to include creating reports, analyzing and reporting key performance indicators, training documentation, training delivery, and implementation.

  • Provide daily support in the execution of all areas of Warehouse Technology to include creating reports, analyzing and reporting key performance indicators, training documentation, training delivery, and implementation

  • Manage and oversee a wide variety of special projects related to the Ferguson Distribution Centers, Ferguson Shipping Centers and Branch Warehouse Operations.

  • Provide data analysis recommendations through the ability to take robust data sets and generate simplified, option based courses of action for consideration and implementation.

  • Facilitate reporting, analysis, administration, and communication for the distribution network on areas of Finance, Quality Management and supply chain best practices.

  • Cross-training with other Department Team Members to serve as back up for various functions performed on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

  • Create ad-hoc SQL queries to retrieve data from various databases as needed and provide in-depth analysis on required reports

  • In addition to the essential job functions described above, all associates will perform duties as requested by management.

This position required a results oriented, high energy, detail oriented individual with emotional intelligence and intellect to work and thrive in a fast paced, high growth environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics or related field preferred

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the supply chain, logistics or distribution field with direct responsibility for KPIs, financials or metrics

  • Experience with activity based performance metrics, process improvement and Lean thinking and execution

  • Thorough understanding of Distribution Center and Branch Warehouse operating systems to include automated WMS, TMS systems and other mechanized processes

  • Ability to collaborate with business leaders and peers across the organization to anticipate, identify, recommend and implement creative operational and customer service solutions

  • Good understanding of general warehousing best in class procedures and policies

  • Ability to work independently and with fellow associates

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Thorough working knowledge of the various Microsoft Office suite products; especially Microsoft Access and Excel.

  • Experience with reading and/or writing PL/SQL required.


  • Growth within the position, ultimately the person in this position should grow into an analyst well versed in Access Databases, PL/SQL and other reporting tools.
